Hi there, the reason that the from (no-reply@wufoo.com) on notification emails can't be changed is to make sure our servers don't get flagged as sending out spam. This can get us blacklisted if we're sending out emails with domains that don't match our server's domain. This is why we allow you to change the name (which is the setting you changed) but not the from email.
  • izbuhizbuh December 2010
CampaignMonitor allow to use the own domain in the email marketing campaign.

Use a advanced "Authenticated sending domains" function with DomainKeys/DKIM, Sender ID and SPF validation.

Also, when isn't possibile, use a generic domain createsend.com.

I think that Wufoo should be give us a discount until this service will not be active (White Label)... every our forms that we sent is a marketing campaign for Wufoo... every my customer ask me "who is no-reply@wufoo.com?" and visit yours website

I'm paying for a service "without" advertisement. Email Forms, i,e, email notifications, are what you sell, with confirmations pointing to "no-reply wufoo.com". Which deems this an advertisement as part of your product. I'm branding my business not Wuffo's. I used FormExperts previously, a rather large operation, and they did not have this problem. Seems a bit generic for a feature on a paid subscription.

Beyond the risk of Wufoo getting blacklisted for sending email, sending out from the @wufoo.com address helps deliverability. If notification emails can come from any domain it becomes hard for us to support and runs a major risk of abuse.

It boils down to the fact that we want to make sure everybody gets their emails! =)

at least use a more generic/professional domain

wufoo in italy is a name of a famous porno star
  • johnnydugsjohnnydugs April 2011
@izbuh - that's hilarious. hopefully your customers have a sense of humor :)

I do find it a touch annoying that emails come from wufoo.com. we occasionally use vertical response and are able to send emails from our domain.

This really needs to be removed! We pay for this service yet we can't customise the from email address. You provide such a good form service but this one thing is letting you down massively! We came to you because you provide a really good tool for businesses but when our customers are getting emails from @wufoo.com, it looks really unprofessional and makes no sense to our business.

When will you change this so that we can use a custom email of our own?
  • restechrestech May 2011
all you have to do is publish your IP address to us in our control panel of your mail server so that we can set your server up to send from our email address. When you get support, all you have to do is refer them to the SPF record set up with their domain company and you won't have to support it! It is then down to the account holder to make sure SPF records are set up and if emails are not getting there, it's the account holders problem...
  • Got my vote too to remove
  • I have big issues with this and agree with many of the above comments. Clients ask who is wu and I tell them but not one of them is happy to include in their marketing material.

+1 Vote. I may have to begin to look for alternative if this is not resolved. It is not like this is ground breaking, many other services I use (Freshbooks and Campaign Monitor) have done this successfully.

Thanks Wufoo. I do love ya :)

Another vote to offer an alternative or custom from name
  • mmoommoo June 2011
vote here! my clients do not like to see this.
they do not know if i am legit or not when they see
    my name and then no-reply@wufoo.com

i also use freshbooks and they have no issues.
you work together with each other now,
    give them a call.

    thanks

count me in for removal, I have worked with Disney for over 12 years, knowing them, I find it hard to believe that they are a customer and would allow no-reply@wufoo.com as a return address. I have filled out many forms with Disney and I have never seen your email in any confirmation. How do they do it?
  • JulianJulian June 2011
Yes please.....I'd like this removed too
  • hifuguyhifuguy August 2011
I'm a new user and have been happy with the service, particularly the integration with Solve360, but I spent some time wandering through options trying to figure out how to remove that wufoo address. I'm stunned it's not an option. We'll deal with it only until we find a good alternative and get it implemented with our site and 360.

Freshbooks Services for reply and branding and...well everything ROCKS ! +1
  • gate39mediagate39media August 2011
    plus one.
  • bchalkerbchalker September 2011
+1 - not "remove", but rename to a more generic/friendly domain
  • hayeshomeworkshayeshomeworks October 2011
This is a problem. Wufoo has to ask themselves how long companies will let this go. Any company building a brand, gets poked in the eye everytime they see an email that had been sent to the customer with Wufoo in it.
  • alamm03alamm03 November 2011
+1 .. we are now looking to move our forms in-house because of this very obvious issue.. that's too bad.. I'm going to only use Wufoo for prototyping forms, but create our own system to handle the data.

    :(
  • bchalkerbchalker December 2011
Guys - if the competition is able to do this, what is the problem on this end? It just doesn't make sense. Izbuh makes a good point.
  • +1 it looks bad for businesses when the email shows up under another company's name.
